Sorry for the lack of communication from the club but really not much has been happening since the Widgee Trail Ride on the 29th March. We had 249 riders and it was a great ride with two alternate routes to choose from. This was an idea of Homer’s and it worked a treat. It cuts down the traffic hold ups and gives people a chance to do one loop, come back then recoup and go again with a different group etc. THE FOOD!!! The food was great and the home made cakes yummy.

Those of you who helped mark it out, sweep on the day and then help to clean up after the day deserve a great big thankyou. Well you deserve more than that but from the whole club – thank you and we can’t run them without you.

The next MX practice day will be the 25th October, 2009.

What to Do!

I need your help with the very next event on the 14th of June at Cambroon. On the Saturday before the event (13th) we need hands on deck with people putting up bunting and putting in stakes and ribbon off parts of the track. You can camp over on the Saturday night if you wish because I will be needing sweep riders the next day as well. Its important that you contact either myself on 0412 629 936 or Frank Kraan on 0439 339 101 if you are able to come out. This way we will know how many more people we need and we would like to count on you please.

Maybe you are thinking about racing it. It’s a great track and you get a lot of riding in with this type of format (4 x 30 to 40 minute races). It is an Open meeting so you will need your National Race Licence to compete. Go to www.mqld.org.au for the entry forms.

MX Practice Day

We will need your help on the Saturday before hand to prep the track. We will send out a text message letting you know what time to be there and remember if you do help out you get one free ride the next day.

If you want to join the club just download the Membership aplication Form from our membership page and send it to the address on the form. Because we are in the later half of the year it will only cost you $7.50 to become a member and everyone’s membership is due on the 1st of January 2009. The fees will be going up to $20 for the year and $40 for the family for 2009.

2009 Presidents Welcome

Hi Everyone

Welcome to 2009!!! What a great year we had in 2008 with some very successful events. For example the GAR – I heard from some regular GAR participants that it was one of the best GAR’s ever. We traversed through some new country that incorporated the fantastic trails of Guerella Park near Kenilworth. The heat brought a few good men to their knees but they soldiered on to tell some funny stories around camp. We also had the honour of Australian Off Road Champion AJ Roberts riding with us to get some navigational training up his sleeve for who knows what race lies ahead for him (???).
